Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay road rehabilitation: Maltech was there (STRABAG – MPAMBA OFFICE – LAN)
Maltech played a significant role in supporting the rehabilitation of the 46 km main road in phase II of the Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay road by providing IT services to the German construction company, STRABAG. The Mtwara Development Corridor links Malawi to the Port of Mtwara in Tanzania and the Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay Road is part of this corridor. Located in Mpamba, a few kilometres from Mzuzu, STRABAG needed a LAN for its offices over five years ago. Maltech quickly and efficiently provided the service, supplying all necessary equipment and setting up the LAN at the STRABAG main office.
Maltech partnered with an ISP, Skyband, to provide STRABAG with a link to connect to their main server in Germany, which has all the project management tools for managing site offices around the world. Maltech continued to support STRABAG with ICT services until their project was completed, including managing the day-to-day administration of the company’s hardware and software.
Working with STRABAG, an internationally renowned company, just eight years after Maltech’s founding, was an exciting experience for the company. It was fascinating to see how IT was applied in the construction industry, and Maltech is proud to have played a part in supporting STRABAG’s operations in Malawi. Maltech hopes that when STRABAG returns to Malawi, they will remember the professional and timely services that Maltech provided.
Maltech’s partnership with national giants like SKYBAND to serve international clients like STRABAG is a testament to the company’s strategic role in both the national and international scene.
